|Awesome art of Dreams!|
So, it's that time of the year again where I start wondering just what the heck I'm doing with my life.
This journal's general purpose is just to tell you that there won't be any Dreams updates for an undefinite amount of time.
If you are interested as to why I've decided this though, I have a few reasons listed below.
Lack of time/Energy
I currently work 5-6 days a week. Commuting to and from work takes 40 minutes each, and on top of that I have obligations when I get home such as cooking, cleaning, laundry.
When all of that is finished I usually have a few friends who want my attention elsewhere, and quite frankly I'd rather spend my time focusing on hanging out with them than stressing out over trying to meet a weekly deadline.
One of my more long-term friends (who at this point no longer bothers to bullshit around me) said that the quality of the strips in general just have plummeted lately. In all honesty it's something I've known for a while. I've always focused on the visual aspect of the comic and pretty much neglected making an entertaining story. Heck, most punchlines aren't recognizable without a bit of thinking, and even if you do get them they're not exactly something you keel over laughing about.
Taking time to improve
I consider myself an artist, but I can't really improve if all I do is the same, tired, stressinducing work I've done so far. I want to be able to take the time with my projects without facing a deadline, without feeling forced to upload it if I'm not satisfied with it. I also want to learn how to write better punchlines, possibly finding a co-writer to help me with that.
So, I'll be taking some time off from the comic in order to improve myself. I'll be around on DeviantArt as usual, occasionally uploading my progress. So, just because the comic has ground to a halt, don't believe for a second that I've abandoned you all <3
